Idea Usher

We hired Idea Usher in early 2022 to build a music streaming and artist platform. What was promised as a scalable, production-ready web and mobile app turned out to be a fundamentally broken and unstable product that never functioned correctly.

After investing over $20,000 and working with them for more than 3 years, we were left with:

Poorly structured, unscalable code

Major issues with state management (GetX), dependency injection, and API integration

No localization, messy UI/UX, hardcoded values, and zero ability to expand

Backend architecture that failed basic stability and security expectations

We eventually hired a third-party audit team, who confirmed what we had suspected: the app wasn’t just flawed — it was unusable. Every attempt we made to communicate these issues was met with deflection, despite their own developers witnessing bugs live on screen shares.

Worse, we were falsely accused of not paying, even though we provided receipts and verified cryptocurrency transactions. Only after providing screenshots and blockchain proof did they acknowledge the payment.

In their response to my review, Idea Usher claims that our app was denied due to copyright issues. However, according to the documentation I received from Google Play and Apple, the primary reason for the denial was the absence of a privacy policy. This issue was eventually resolved after multiple attempts to upload the policy. Additionally, another reason for the delay was that Idea Usher uploaded screenshots of features that were not yet available, which further postponed the app’s release by several months.

Even after a partial refund was eventually offered, they tied it to conditions requiring us to revise our review dishonestly, claiming “everything was fixed” when it wasn’t. In fact, we’ve since had to hire a new development company to rebuild the entire platform from scratch.

Despite their public claim of a “100% Developer Skill Guarantee or Your Money Back,” they’ve refused to acknowledge any failure and framed every effort we made to resolve things as unreasonable.

Bottom line:
Idea Usher may work well for some, but our experience as a paying client was filled with delays, excuses, and a complete lack of accountability. If you’re a startup or entrepreneur relying on a functioning product, proceed with extreme caution.

I cannot recommend this company to anyone seeking experienced developers who will prioritize and dedicate the necessary attention to their project.

It is deeply disappointing that Idea Usher continues to deny responsibility despite clear documentation and evidence of their shortcomings and mismanagement throughout this project. Their claims about the app being delayed due to copyright issues are misleading; the primary reason for rejection by Google Play and Apple was the absence of a privacy policy, which they failed to address in a timely manner. Additionally, delays caused by uploading incomplete or inaccurate screenshots—despite multiple warnings—further hampered the project’s progress.

Despite their public claims of a “100% Developer Skill Guarantee,” our experience demonstrates otherwise. The apps they developed, although still visible on the app stores, are not being utilized by us. We have decided to discontinue them entirely as we transition to our new, fully rebuilt applications. This decision underscores the extent of their failure to deliver a stable, secure, and scalable product.

Throughout the process, they consistently deflected accountability, ignored critical bugs and security vulnerabilities, and only acknowledged issues after external audits and extensive documentation from our side. Their refusal to accept responsibility for the flawed code, unstable architecture, and poor project management highlights a lack of professionalism and integrity.

The partial refund offered was contingent upon revising a review that accurately reflected our experience—an attempt to silence legitimate feedback rather than genuinely address the issues. We had to hire a new development team to rebuild the platform from scratch, which speaks volumes about their inability to fulfill their promises.

In summary, prospective clients should exercise caution. While some may have positive experiences, our case illustrates a pattern of neglect, miscommunication, and dishonesty. We strongly recommend thorough vetting and demanding accountability before engaging with Idea Usher.
